The total budget of the project is 1,364,438.31 EUR, of which 1,159,772.56 EUR is the European Union funding through the European Regional Development Fund, 13% of the national budget and 2% of the local budget.

Of the total eligible value of the project, Oltenia Museum Craiova has the amount of 459,451.39 EUR.

The general objective of the project is to promote cooperation between institutions and people through the use of cultural and natural resources, in a sustainable tourist way, in Dolj – Montana cross-border region.

The partners in this project are: Municipality of Varshets, Montana (Leader) and Oltenia Museum Craiova.

The opening of the conference will take place on Wednesday, June 30^th, 2021, starting at 12:00 a.m., at the Conference Hall at the headquarters of the Department of Natural Sciences from Str. Popa Șapcă nr. 8. On this occasion there will be a demonstration of the operation of the new interactive equipment from the Department of Natural Sciences (hologram, interactive totem, virtual assistant and interactive table) purchased by our institution within the cross-border project “New destinations in cross-border tourism” .

At the same time, during the 3 days of the conference, the 45 specialists, of which 24 from Bulgaria, will present the opportunities for cultural, academic and spa tourism in Craiova and Varshets.

The Final Conference of the project was attended by representatives of the Romanian and Bulgarian authorities, members of the Romanian-Bulgarian project implementation team and representatives of interested stakeholders.

The project “New destinations in cross-border tourism” had an implementation period of 43 months (August 2018 – March 2022) and was co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg VA Romania-Bulgaria Program, Axis Priority 2 – A green region, Specific objective: 2.1 Improving the sustainable use of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage.

The partners in this project were the Municipality of Varshets, Montana (Leader) and the Museum of Oltenia Craiova.

• construction of a museum complex in Varshets: Paleo-Park and Information Center with exhibition space;
• endowment the Museum of Oltenia Craiova with innovative and interactive equipment for carrying out activities of documentation, education and promotion of the cultural heritage held (an interactive hologram, 3 virtual assistants with interactive tables and 3 interactive totems);
• joint activities for cooperation between institutions and professionals working in the field of museums and tourism in Dolj and Montana.

The Oltenia Museum organized a meeting within the project “New Destinations in cross-border tourism”, project code: ROBG – 471.  The meeting took place in Craiova and the participants were the members of the implementation team from Varshets Municipality (LP) and the Oltenia Museum Craiova (PP).

Florin Ridiche, acting as Manager of Oltenia Museum Craiova and assistant manager in the implementation team of the project, welcomed the members of the implementation teams:

• From LP: Petrova Tatyana, Project manager; Ilieva Vera, Communication officer; Denkova Kostadinka, Technical responsible; Tacheva Krasimira, Financial responsible.
• From PP: Lungu Ecaterina, Financial assistant; Popescu Daniela, Technical assistant; Bâsceanu Marius, Information and communication Manager; Popescu Valentina, ITC Communication office; Popescu Aurelian, Coordinator of scientific exchanges; Nistor Maria Alina, Procurement Coordinator.

During the meeting, the discussions covered some aspects of importance for the project implementation, such as:

• exchange of information regarding the project status on both sides;
• discussions on different topics: procurement procedures, technical and financial aspects, details on the activities regarding the works to be done and the awareness campaigns, exchange of information regarding the way to put in operation the joint mechanisms, etc.

The discussions were engaging and constructive and helped strengthening people-to-people cooperation among PM team members.

Further communications aspects have been established.

The management team meeting lasted for about 1 hour.
